L.A. Girl Pro Coverage Illuminating Foundation: Swatches & Review

written by Olivia Akumu January 3, 2017

Unless you’ve been hiding under a makeup rock for the past few months, you won’t have failed to notice the release of L.A. Girl’s new Pro Coverage Illuminating Foundation all over the interwebs. L.A. Girl claim that the foundation gives pro coverage, high-definition and  long wear, all with a lightweight formula that is comfortable for all day wear.

The line comes in an impressive 16 shades, all the way from ice white to dark chocolate. I picked up two of the darker shades Coffee and Rich Cocoa, as well as the innovative White – Lightening shade. Coffee is a neutral brown (I can get away with this in the winter months with a little bit of bronzer on the edges). Rich Cocoa is a warmer deep brown with a bit of a red/orange undertone. I can get the perfect shade match when I mix the two. The White shade is an amazing concept for a drugstore/highstreet product and is great for lightening up other products which may run a bit dark.

You get 28ml of product in each tube, which is about average for most foundations. The packaging is a brilliant dupe for the Makeup Forever HD Foundation (peep my November wish list). The fact that it comes with a pump is also a bonus – press carefully though as you may end up with too much.

As it claims, the formula is super light weight and gives a medium to buildable full coverage. It has a lovely dewy finish, that leaves your skin looking alive without beaming. It’s most likely a best bet for dry to normal skin, but I wouldn’t completely rule this out for the oily skin squad – just make sure you use a good mattifying primer and setting/blotting powder to get away with this after a few hours wear.

FINAL WORD: Get it. You can pick this up at Makeup Addiction KE for KES 1,200.

Have you tried the new L.A. Girl Pro Coverage Illuminating Foundation?  What’s your colour match?
