DUO Eyelash Glue & My Favourite Lashes of the Moment

Don’t you just love a good false eyelash? If your answer was “no”, then there’s a 97.65% chance that you’re one of the few who was blessed by the universe and have long, luscious and full lashes. I for one, was clearly missing when God was handing out this particular gift. Now I definitely wouldn’t say that my natural lashes are non-existent, but they are short and fine and I definitely have to be having a good day and a full tube of mascara to make them anywhere near as glam as I’d like them to look. Plus, in my opinion, an eye look really isn’t complete unless you add in some falsies to pull it all together.

That’s where these eyelashes step in. My favourite thing about them is the ultra-feminine, but glam look you get when you put them on. This really is down to the criss-cross placement of the lashes, which gives you a full base, but a beautifully fanned-out and soft edge. And because of the practically non-existent band they are really easy to apply and blend in with your own lashes, even if you don’t have on any eyeshadow or liner.

To apply my lashes I use the DUO Eyelash Adhesive. It’s an eyelash glue that has been specially formulated for applying strip lashes. The glue pictured above is the Clear-White formula, which applies white but dries down to an undetectable clear. It also comes in a dark formula, if that’s what you’d prefer – but somehow I feel as though the white formula holds much better.  Each tube has 7g of product, which might seem tiny, but a really tiny amount goes a long way!

The only thing I don’t like about this glue is the applicator – or lack of one. It’s a squeezy bottle tube and it’s really easy to over squeeze the tube and end up with glue all over your fingers which will just go to waste. I can’t stress this enough, squeeze gently!!

How to apply:

  1. Gently peel the lashes from the container and measure them along your lash line
  2. Trim lashes if necessary
  3. Carefully apply a thin film glue of glue to the lash band
  4. Wait for about 30 seconds (this allows the glue to get tacky for maximum hold)
  5. Apply the lashes as close to natural lashline as possible
  6. Look fabulous!

DUO Eyelash Adhesive is available at Makeup Addiction KE for KES 500.
