I love compiling lists of inspiration, whether that be for an outfit look, a beauty/make up look, or an interiors look. For the most part these are very scattered – either in my likes on Instagram, pins, screenshots, or just mental notes. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts – so I thought I’d share what I’m currently loving, and lusting after!
Style Wish List
There are three key trends that stand out for me as must-haves for the upcoming season:
One – gingham, gingham and more gingham. It’s such a fresh, edgy, yet somehow feminine and pretty print that changes with the cut of the fabric. I’ll b searching this out in all it’s forms.
Two – blush pink outerwear. Pastel colours are always are thing for the Northern hemisphere’s spring months, but for some reason I’ve always felt like I could never get away with a pastel shade. All of a sudden I’m in love with blush pink, especially for outerwear. It’s so feminine. Tell me these pieces would not be statement in your wardrobe?! NEED.
Three – This is more of a trend from last season, but I also have a growing obsession with fishnet stockings and socks. Can’t wait for the weather to cool down a bit so that I can pair this with some ripped jeans. The socks will be perfect with an LBD and patent black pumps for a girly night on the town! Pretty sure you can grab fishnets in lingerie shops across town.
Beauty Wish List
My beauty wishlist this month is more of a shout out to two Instagram pages that are enabling my eyeshadow addiction. The first is the Futilities and More page by Flo. She does amazing posts with dupes of best selling make up palettes. Her dupes are usually Make Up Geek, but she does throw in a good measure of other brands too. The second is Angela, whose swatches will make you reconsider your food budget for the month in favour of new eyeshadows.
What I love most about both of these pages is that sometimes when there is a new palette release, you’re only interested in one or two of the shades in there (I have – on several occasions – genuinely considered buying an entire palette for one shade). Both Angela and Flo will give you singles options so that you can go out and buy just the shades you want to dupe the colours in that palette.
So if you’re on the look out for some bomb swatches of single shadows that you never knew you needed, definitely check these two ladies out!
Food Wish List
THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Buy your dried fruit at the nuts/seeds/dried food counter in Carrefour! I’ve always wanted to make white chocolate and cranberry cookies, but found the prices of pre-packed dried fruits in other stores a complete rip off. I was at Carrefour this past weekend and bought just over 100g of dried cranberries for about KES 160. Prices in the other stores you ask? Anywhere from KES 300 and up. Cookies are on the bake-list this weekend….thank me later!
I haven’t tried this recipe yet (so don’t quote me on it!) but I got the photo here.
I hope this page gave you some inspo. What have you been loving this month?
